SUMMARY:October Forum - Undone by Grace: The secret to walking humbly
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for Tuesday\, October 12th as we welcome Amanda Dukes\, WESH 2 New Reporter and Anchor. \nA number of research studies have concluded that humility is a common trait in effective leaders.    Micah 6:8 tells us to serve God\, we must walk humbly.  James 4:10 says when we humble ourselves\, God will honor us. But our current culture downplays the virtue of humility associating it with weakness.  So the questions to be answered are; why is humility important\, what does it look and sound like in our lives\, and how can it be pursued.? \nIn her 33 years as a journalist Amanda has been given a front row seat to observe the power of humility in people from all walks of life.  She’ll share from both her personal experiences and her study of Andrew Murray’s classic book “Humility\, The Journey Toward Holiness”.   One of her most surprising discoveries is the secret to receiving the gift of humility is to let your heart be undone by God’s lavish and personal grace. \nAmanda joined WESH 2 News in August 1997. Her most memorable experiences at WESH 2 News include covering the wildfires of 1998\, spending a month on the road in West Palm Beach and Tallahassee covering the 2000 post-election battles\, and being right on the coast as hurricanes Jeanne and Frances hit in 2004. She will also never forget the challenging days she spent field anchoring WESH 2 News’ live coverage of the Casey Anthony trial from outside the Orange County courthouse. \nAmanda has served on the boards of several non-profit groups including J4 Leaders and Summit Church as well as the Christian Service Center and Samaritan Village. She is also a proud graduate of Lifework Leadership Orlando. \nShe enjoys leading and facilitating bible study groups\, volunteering as a mentor\, reading\, Christian music\, and trips to the beach or mountains. Her talents extend to singing\, and she has performed professionally in college and in the Miss America pageant system. She was New Hampshire’s Junior Miss and first runner-up to Miss New Hampshire.
