SUMMARY:Searching for the Greater Good
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on April 11th as Noelle Moore shares with us her personal story of tragedy she went through that ultimately ended in her starting The Finley Project. A nonprofit organization\, The Finley Project is aimed at providing the type of support Nicole wishes she’d had when she lost her daughter Finley—support that begins before the mother leaves the hospital and continues as long as it is needed. \n\n\n\nNoelle Moore is Board President of the Winter Park YMCA and is a founding member of the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Resource Network of Central Florida (PILRN). She is a Grief-Share facilitator and an active member Rotary Club of Lake Mary. Noelle was awarded Art of Compassion Award by the Pay It Forward Organization in 2018\, the Paula Hawkins Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019 and led The Finley Project to win the 2017 and 2018 Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Ovations Award. April 2020\, Noelle was awarded Orlando Family Magazine\, Top 15 Super Women Award. Most recently\, Noelle was featured in People Magazine as well as Forbes Magazine. \nAs an Orangewood Christian School and Rollins College Alum\, Noelle has a heart to make Central Florida a more equipped place to handle infant loss and families experiencing the unimageable\, the loss of an infant. \nIn 2013\, Noelle experienced the unimaginable\, the death of her daughter Finley as a result of medical malpractice. When Finley died\, Noelle struggled to find where to go or what to do next. Noelle knew she had to do something\, so she founded the nation’s only 7- Part Holistic Program helping mothers after infant loss\, The Finley Project. \nTo date\, The Finley Project has enrolled and supported over 450 families. The Finley Project is recognized across the country as an innovator in the Bereavement space because of its one-of-a-kind 7- Part Holistic Support Model. \n

SUMMARY:October Forum - Undone by Grace: The secret to walking humbly
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for Tuesday\, October 12th as we welcome Amanda Dukes\, WESH 2 New Reporter and Anchor. \nA number of research studies have concluded that humility is a common trait in effective leaders.    Micah 6:8 tells us to serve God\, we must walk humbly.  James 4:10 says when we humble ourselves\, God will honor us. But our current culture downplays the virtue of humility associating it with weakness.  So the questions to be answered are; why is humility important\, what does it look and sound like in our lives\, and how can it be pursued.? \nIn her 33 years as a journalist Amanda has been given a front row seat to observe the power of humility in people from all walks of life.  She’ll share from both her personal experiences and her study of Andrew Murray’s classic book “Humility\, The Journey Toward Holiness”.   One of her most surprising discoveries is the secret to receiving the gift of humility is to let your heart be undone by God’s lavish and personal grace. \nAmanda joined WESH 2 News in August 1997. Her most memorable experiences at WESH 2 News include covering the wildfires of 1998\, spending a month on the road in West Palm Beach and Tallahassee covering the 2000 post-election battles\, and being right on the coast as hurricanes Jeanne and Frances hit in 2004. She will also never forget the challenging days she spent field anchoring WESH 2 News’ live coverage of the Casey Anthony trial from outside the Orange County courthouse. \nAmanda has served on the boards of several non-profit groups including J4 Leaders and Summit Church as well as the Christian Service Center and Samaritan Village. She is also a proud graduate of Lifework Leadership Orlando. \nShe enjoys leading and facilitating bible study groups\, volunteering as a mentor\, reading\, Christian music\, and trips to the beach or mountains. Her talents extend to singing\, and she has performed professionally in college and in the Miss America pageant system. She was New Hampshire’s Junior Miss and first runner-up to Miss New Hampshire.

SUMMARY:J4 Book Group on "Generous Justice" by Tim Keller
DESCRIPTION:Join us virtually to discuss Tim Keller’s book and how it applies to us as leaders today. Get your copy now and enrich the conversation by sharing your insights! \nIt is commonly thought in secular society that the Bible is one of the greatest hindrances to doing justice. Isn’t it full of regressive views? Didn’t it condone slavery? Why look to the Bible for guidance on how to have a more just society? But Timothy Keller challenges these preconceived beliefs and presents the Bible as a fundamental source for promoting justice and compassion for those in need. In Generous Justice\, he explores a life of justice empowered by an experience of grace: a generous\, gracious justice. This book offers readers a new understanding of modern justice and human rights that will resonate with both the faithful and the skeptical.
